Kamal Bhattacharya, formerly Director of IBM Research-Africa is the new, and first, iHub (interim) CEO. The hub restructured earlier this year and introduced iHub services, a more aggressive commercial arm that hopes to leverage the strong iHub brand to attract consultancy clients willing to pay a premium rate.
Kamal holds a a PhD in Theoretical Physics from Göttingen University, Germany. He started working with IBM soon after completing his PhD.
His plan with the new gig at the CEO of Africa’s premier tech hub will take a three pronged approach: Connect, Build and Invent.
